ELECTROLYSIS FAQ

Is a trial session mandatory for electrolysis?
Yes. A trial session is required for all new clients, even if you have had electrolysis before.
It allows us to get acquainted, review your goals, assess the treatment area, your skin response, and sensitivity level, and determine an appropriate treatment plan and estimated timing. It is also your opportunity to experience electrolysis and ask any questions before starting regular sessions.
How many sessions are needed for permanent hair removal?
The number of sessions varies for each individual depending on hair type, growth cycle, previous hair removal methods (shaving, waxing, sugaring, laser, etc.), and consistency with recommended appointments.
On average, a full course may take around 2-2.5 years with approximately 15-20 sessions, though this can vary significantly.
During your trial session, we will discuss your individual case in detail and I will provide a more personalized estimate.
As treatment progresses, sessions typically become shorter and less frequent. You can also view real results in the before & after section.
Does electrolysis hurt?
Pain tolerance is highly individual and depends on the treatment area.
Most clients describe the sensation as a quick heat or slight tingling rather than pain.
The trial session is the best way to understand how it feels for your own sensitivity level before starting a
full course.
How should I remove hair between sessions?
It is recommended to use a razor or depilatory cream between sessions.
Methods such as waxing, sugaring, or tweezing should be avoided, as they remove the hair from the root and can interfere with the treatment process.
Why are multiple sessions needed if electrolysis is permanent?
Electrolysis permanently destroys individual hair follicles, but hair grows in different cycles.
At any given time, only a portion of hairs are actively visible on the skin's surface, while others are in dormant or resting phases. These will become active over time and require treatment in subsequent sessions.
This is why multiple sessions are necessary to gradually treat all follicles as they enter the active growth phase.
Is electrolysis really permanent?
Yes. Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal.
It works by delivering a small electrical current directly into the hair follicle, disabling its ability to produce new hair. Once a follicle is successfully treated, that specific hair will not grow again.
